Cloth Diaper Inserts
Cloth Diaper Inserts are rectangular or contoured multi-layered absorbent pads, used with cloth diapers or sometimes instead of, when additional absorbency is needed. Inserts can be added at night or with heavy wetters. Inserts are sometimes called doublers, so the terms are interchangeable. Some inserts are designed to be stand alone; others are designed to be added to your existing diapers for additional absorbency.

Diaper Covers
Cloth diaper covers are the waterproof outer cover needed over many absorbent cloth diaper styles, like fitted, flats, or prefold cloth diapers.
If you're wondering how many diaper covers you will need, most parents find that 4-6 diaper covers are enough to use for full time cloth diapering, but you may need more if you are going to wait more than 2 days before washing cloth diapers. Other parents like to have a larger number available so they can rotate through a large number of cute prints and colors. Note diaper covers can be used for more than one diaper changes. If they don't get poop on them, they can be used for multiple diaper changes. In addition to laundering them with your cloth diapers, they can be hand washed and left out to dry.

- What is a fitted cloth diaper? Fitted diapers are hourglass-shaped with elastic at the legs and waist for a snug, leak-proof fit. Snaps make them easy to adjust as your baby grows. Since fitted cloth diapers provide only absorbency, you just add a waterproof diaper cover over the top for an easy, two-step diaper change.
- Do you need a cover for fitted diapers? Yes! Every diaper system needs an absorbent part and a waterproof part. Cotton fitted diapers are the absorbent part and diaper covers are the waterproof part.
- How to use fitted cloth diapers? Change diapers in just two steps: 1) fitted diaper, and 2) diaper cover. Snap the diaper, snap the cover, and you're done. Wash the fitted diaper after each change and reuse the cover several times before washing.

What are the least expensive diapers of all? Flat diapers - Hands down!
Flat diapers are the most economical of all the cloth diaper types. Because of the low cost, they are still the most popular cloth diaper used in most countries today. If you are looking for cheap cloth diapers to fit any baby budget, start with flat diapers.
The original one-size diapers. Flat cloth diapers fit any baby or toddler. Diaper flats have even more flexibility than prefolds, since the size and absorbency are all in how you fold a flat cloth diaper. You can get a great fit even for a newborn. Flats require folding to fit properly. To create a snug fit, use diaper pins or fasteners. Flat diapers also make great inserts for pocket diapers. Just fold to the size of the pocket, and insert. Because flat diapers are only a single layer thick, they dry quickly. - great for humid areas.

Flushable Diaper Liners
Diaper liners really make cloth diaper laundry a lot easier. They are a sheet of fabric made of bamboo fibers, about as thick as a sheet of toilet paper. They are placed between the baby and the cloth diapers. They do not add additional absorbency. Instead, they allow urine to pass through and solids stay on the diaper liner. You can then drop the poop and the liner into the toilet or garbage and your cloth diapers are less messy and your diaper pail odor is not as strong.

Pails & Laundry Bags
A good diaper pail improves the cloth diapering experience by reducing odors significantly. We recommend that you choose a pail and two pail liners. Diaper pail liners can be washed with your diapers. Just turn inside out as your emptying your diapers into the washer. Make sure the liner you choose is the correct one for your chosen pail. Pockets / AI2's
Pocket cloth diapers have a liquid proof outer barrier and allow you to stuff your absorbent material into a pocket in the interior. The layer against the baby's skin is generally a stay dry fleece. After changing the outer piece and inner piece should be separated for laundering. The absorbent material may an insert designed to go specifically with the pocket diaper, or you may use insets, prefolds or flat diapers.
All-In-Two cloth diapers are cloth diaper covers for which you can snap in an absorbent insert. Some all and two covers work with other absorbent interiors like prefold or flat diapers.

Prefolds

Prefold cloth diapers have been the trusted standard in cloth diapering for nearly 70 years. Although, prefolds are considered by some to be old fashioned, they are still the most commonly used cloth diapers in North America. Prefolds used with diaper covers can be a big money saver over both disposables and other kinds of cloth diapers.
- What is a prefold cloth diaper? Prefold diapers are 3-panel rectangular diapers made from multiple layers of lightweight, gauze woven fabric with extra layers in the center panel for absorbency.
- How many cloth diapers do I need? We recommend 2-4 dozen prefold diapers per baby, depending on age and how often you wash diapers. A newborn baby needs a diaper change about 12 times a day, but a toddler might only need 4-6 diaper changes a day. If you wash 2 times a week, that means 36-48 diapers for a newborn and 18-24 diapers for a toddler.

Swim Diapers
Swim diapers are a pair of pull-up pants that holds in solids while allowing liquids to pass through. Swim diapers don't include any absorbency, since their purpose is to prevent stool leaks in swimming pools. Most public swimming pools require a swim diaper for babies and toddlers.
