Cloth Diaper Accessories

Now that you have the basics of your diapers and diaper covers, it's time to look into cloth diapering accessories.  Accessories will help make your cloth diapering experience easier and a success.

CLOTH DIAPER LINGO:

Snappi = T-shaped, pinless cloth diaper fastener.

Boingo = Bow tie shapped, pinless cloth diaper fasterner.

Cloth Diaper Fasteners

Flat diapers and prefolds require fasteners to hold in messes. We carry three types of cloth diaper fasteners. First OsoCozy diape pins, which are still very popular, second the Snappi, a stretchy, T-shaped hook that keeps a diaper snug on your baby. Finally the Biongo which is two sided and pulls the diaper cover with gentle fabric hooks.

Reusable Baby Wipes and Cloths

Since you are washing cloth diapers anyway, it is easy to wash cloth baby wipes as well.  We carry a diverse line of cloth wipes which includes single layered flannel wipes and two sided terry flannel wipes in both bleached and unbleached fabrics.  We also have two brands of organic cloth wipes which are both really nice.  Check them out they can be a real money saver.

Wet/Dry Bags

When you are out and about, it is easy to keep wet and soiled diapers in a specifically designed for cloth diapers wet/dry bag. The innovative Planet Wise wet / dry bag has two zippered sections completely separated, one for dry diapers and one for wet diapers, both in the same stylish bag. With two wet bags you can have one in the wash and one packed away in the diaper bag ready to go.

Diaper Rash Remedies

Diaper Creams can serve two purposes: protect skin from wetness as a barrier cream or soothe and treat diaper rash. We recommend avoiding diaper creams that contain zinc oxide.  Zinc oxide is can be extremely difficult to wash out of diapers and can cause staining and repelling issues.  We recommend Grandma Els not only for diaper rash but also for dermatitis and dry spots on both baby and yourself.

Cloth Diaper Pail

One of the most important accessories you need for cloth diapering is a cloth diaper pail to hold dirty diapers before wash day. Odor control goes right along with a diaper pail. Citrus Circles deodorizing disks tuck/fit into the diaper pail lid and reduce odor for 3-4 week. We also carry pail liners that make laundry simple since you can toss them along with your diapers directly in your wash.
