OsoCozy bleached prefolds are twill weave 100% Indian cotton cloth diapers (Also called gauze). They start out incredibly soft and absorbent, and they become even softer with washing. Wash these cloth diapers a few times in hot water, and they fluff up beautifully! As with all cloth prefolds these will shrink 5-10%.

Prefold wiggle

How many layers?  The 3-part number (4x6x4) refers to the number of fabric layers in each of the three panels of the prefold, with the middle panel being the thickest. So,  Most home users prefer the heavier 4x8x4 prefolds because of the added absorbency. Most diaper services use 4x6x4 prefolds to cut down on energy and time needed for drying, and they supply enough diapers for frequent diaper changes.  If you're going to air dry, go with the 4x6x4s.  For home cleaning rags, auto detailing, and diaper burp cloths, we recommend the Infant 4x6x4 and the Regular 4x6x4.  Preemie prefolds are really best only if you're expecting low birth weight babies.  Newborns are great for the first 2-6 weeks after birth; however, the size can be skipped, and you can start with the Infant size.  Picture below shows the newborn size of an 8.5 lb baby.

OsoCozy Prefolds are 100% Cotton - Unlike prefolds from more recognized national children's clothing brands which use a synthetic polyester filling between just two layers of cotton. Our diapers are a better value as they are thicker and more absorbent. Additionally, there is often an ammonia odor buildup in synthetics which you won't get in cotton diapers.

Two Basic Sizes - We offer eight sizes in the bleached prefolds but most families need just two sizes. Those two sizes are the Infant 4x8x4 for 7-15 lbs and the Premium 4x8x4 for 15-30 lbs. Don't be fooled by "One-Size" prefolds which will be bulky on newborns and have insufficient absorbency on larger babies.

Absorbant

We use these for burp clothes. Very absorbant, the shrinkage listed is accurate even after several washes.

Better Than Gerber

To be fair, these only arrived today and I haven’t washed them yet BUT, for starters, they are sewn alll the way to the ends - unlike Gerber whose stitching stops 1/4-1/2” from the ends. The sizes all look the same and the center panel is actually centered - also unlike Gerber whose center panel was often way over to one side. Gerber USED to be great but, they’ve gotten lazy and Osocozy has made it very apparent that Gerber needs to step up their game - Osocozy is less expensive (6 diapers instead of 5 for basically the same price), super soft, and FAR BETTER QUALITY. This is my first time buying this brand and I plan to use them for burp cloths / gifts so I can’t yet speak for their durability or absorbency.
