Better Fit prefolds are sized to tuck inside a diaper cover without folding the diaper lengthwise, as required for standard, Traditional (long) prefolds. Better Fit are 2.5 " shorter in the Infant size and 5-6 " shorter in the Regular or Premium than Traditional fit prefolds. This less bulky and easier to use prefold style first appeared in about 2008 and grew more popular in the years to follow. Based on what we sell about 1 in 3 prefold buyers choose Better-Fit instead of Traditional.

Made with soft, durable unbleached Indian cotton gauze. These prefolds quilt or fluff up nicely with the first wash. These cloth diapers are thick, very absorbent, and lint free.

OsoCozy Prefolds are 100% Cotton - Unlike prefolds from more recognized national children's clothing brands which use a synthetic polyester filling between just two layers of cotton. Our diapers are a better value as they are thicker and more absorbent. Additionally, there is often an ammonia odor buildup in synthetics which you won't get in cotton diapers.

Two Basic Sizes - We offer three sizes in the better-fit prefolds but most families need just two sizes. Those two sizes are the Infant 4x8x4 for 6-16 lbs and the Premium 4x8x4 for 14-30 lbs. Don't be fooled by "One-Size" prefolds which will be bulky on newborns and have insufficient absorbency on larger babies.

Prep diapers before using. Unbleached prefold cloth diapers must be washed and dried on hot at least 2-3 times after you receive them before they become absorbent. Test absorbency by making a pocket or bowl of the diaper and slowly pouring in 1/2 cup of water. If the water pools rather than soaking in quickly, keep washing. DO NOT use fabric softener, which would coat the fibers and cause repelling. Despite the added effort necessary to break in these diapers, they are extremely popular and by most accounts well worth it.

Traditional versus Better Fit

Traditional Fit prefold cloth diapers can be secured to baby with diaper pins or fasteners, or they can be placed in diaper cover and trifolded (sides folded over the middle) with the extra length then folded over in front or back for additional absorbency. See the first two images below. Fold these diapers many additional ways, such as the angel wing fold, the bikini twist, and others. These versatile workhorses have been the standard since prefold diapers replaced flat diapers in the late 1960s.

Better Fit prefold diapers are sized to fit diaper covers when a simple tri-fold is used. See first image below. This results in a less bulky and more comfortable fit without extra layers folded over. Better Fit prefolds are 2.5 inches shorter in the Infant size and 5-6 inches shorter in the Regular or Premium sized traditional prefolds. The Premium size Better Fit has also been used as a medium size between the traditional Infant and Regular or Premium sizes. The Better Fit Premium will fit many babies from about 13-20 lbs.

Good quality, fit, and clean up.

These are fantastic! I get a great fit no matter which fold I use. My daughter is 7lbs 5oz and exclusively breastfed. Blow outs wash out really well and absorbancy is good! I currently have to fold a little of the cover down in the back and I mainly use angel wing fold and snappie in place and cover with newborn rumparooz cover!
I haven't had a leak and I still have room for growing, so I'm hoping these will last a couple months before I have to buy the next size up!

Great fabric.

I loved that these diapers were designed to fit more compactly into my diaper covers. I do use Snappis most of the time and have found what others have, they get pretty snug before the 16 lb. cutoff. Pretty simple resolution, I just don't fight with the Snappi and ditch it! At this point I can't get away from folding it as I would to put a Snappi on though, I want the extra coverage around the thighs. I haven't had any major leaks/blowouts even with some pretty heavy loads from a bf baby and even if I didn't Snappi it closed. They do absorb plenty and are super thick and soft. I liked them enough I did some research of the usual fit prefolds and decided to buy the next size up of the better fit. I think when baby is eating solids I'll feel more comfortable folding the prefold as suggested to make it fit baby longer.

I bought these in a pinch because I didnt end up having enough prefolds for my newborn. I was looking for cheap, but good. These are a great price and exceed expectations. Theyre pretty thick and really absorbent.

Fits Perfect!

Love our OsoCozy prefolds! They work great. At night time i use an infant sized microfiber insert underneath the prefold to increase absorbancy. They fit PERFECTLY into the diaper covers assuming you order the right size for which rise you are using on your diaper. If you're anything like me and OCD about stains, they come right out in about 30 minutes of sun exposure. The photo I used shows a Flip diaper cover on the smallest setting with the smallest Better Fit Prefold (purple edge). We are going into our third month using this size (and fold), and haven't had a single blow out!

Just get these! Works great.

Great diapers! Prepped by hot wash, cold rinse, dry x3 as recommended, and they were perfectly soft and absorbent on our first use! Used the smaller size from birth to 5.5 months old, they held up so well with frequent washings and newborn BMs. I expect the same great quality from this size. Buying more, great product!
